Solagüen Crianza comes from vineries with an average age of 30 years, planted in Rioja Alavesa at an altitude between 450 and 550 meters, an intermediate level in terms of safe maturity. The vineyards occupy 80 hectares in Labastida.
A wine made entirely with Tempranillo grape. Having entered the winery, the grapes had their stems removed, followed by pre-fermenting maceration at 8°C for 120 hours. Later the alcoholic fermentation was carried out with its skins maceration for 8 days at controlled temperature, followed by a 12-month ageing period in the bottle before its commercialization. The highlight of this red wine is the harmonic combination between red fruits balsamic features and ageing spices with very subtle memories of vanilla, coconut and cocoa.
- Colour Ruby tone at the centre with a dark deep colour and lively edge.
- Nose Cherry and blackberry jam. The wood, al- though noticeable, complements the openly fruity character of the wine, adding some cinnamon and toasted vanilla notes to the aroma’s finish.
- Palate Full with a potent impression, which supports the balance between good acidity and a velvety feel. On the finish, it shows a mix of dairy and marinated fruit. It shows body, good complexity, strength and richness of nuances in the mouth as well as good persistency.
- Food pairing Recommended with steaks and other red meats, casseroles, stews, lamb, Spanish chorizo sausages, hard and blue cheeses.
