Wine description

Gran Baroja Alta Expresión Edición Limitada, the vineyards are located in the centre of Rioja Alavesa, in Elvillar de Alava, which has a unique geographical situation, protected by the Sierra Cantabria in the north and seeking the Ebro River fertility. They are situated on a limestone land, which adds all its strong character with humid climate and scarce sun hours.

For the wine to be able to withstand 3 years of ageing in oak, it is of paramount importance to start choosing the most mature and harmonious clusters. After harvesting, Tempranillo has the stems removed and the berries squeezed, later to be poured into stainless steel tanks, where they are to be fermented according to Ganimede system, which provides a natural release of carbon dioxide, avoiding oxidation better than any other process, improving aroma and colour extraction. The red wine is placed in French and American oak barrels ageing for 36 months, completing the process with 24 months in the bottle before being sent to the market.

A dry, powerful, very robust wine that surprises when tasted. With a fragrance that highlights barrel period and Tempranillo fruity.
