Wine description

Garnacha is a fashionable variety. A grape stock that has always been rooted in Rioja as a Tempranillo subsidiary, and for which in recent years we have discovered its unsuspected qualities if alone. This is Baigorri Garnacha 2012, a red wine coming from Rioja Alavesa Appellation, from old vines with the average age of 65 years, located at 750 meters above sea level, with very poor clay-ferrous soils and located in Samaniego town. Sustainable viticulture, harmony with nature, and 100% manual work. The most attractive Garnacha feature is its freshness and fineness, provided by the vineyards located almost at the cultivation limit, very different from the images of more alcoholic varieties of this sort and fleshy wines from lower Rioja or Aragon areas.

Made with 100% Garnacha, the grapes were selected by hand, cluster by cluster, using selection and vibration tables. The grapes had their stems removed not being squeezed, later placed in stainless steel tanks with temperature control and long fermentations with whole berries, extracting intracellularly varietal aromas. The grape juice stirring was made naturally by gravity, using the submerged cap mathod as help in the elaboration process. Finally, the wine was extracted by pneumatic press, later placed into French oak barrels, where it performed malolactic fermentation. This wine was aged in oak barrels of the same origin for 14 months.

This unctuous and wrapping wine will make you enjoy a unique experience.
