It is not common in Rioja that grapes for a crianza come from vineyards of 50 years average age. In Baigorri there is no conventional wine. It is the winegrower commitment not to produce a minor wine but to produce wines with different styles. Baigorri Crianza red wine Rioja Alavesa Appellation, comes from old vines located in Samaniego town. Sustainable viticulture, harmony with nature and 100% manual work.
Made with 90% Tempranillo and 10% other varieties, the grape was selected by hand, cluster by cluster, having their stems removed and the berries squeezed, followed by 10-day skin maceration, completed with pneumatic pressing. This wine was aged in new French and American oak barrels for 12 months.
It is a modern, fluid and elegant wine. Doubtless, it will impress you.
