Wine description

In the process of a Reserva wine creation Tempranillo represents its essence because it gathers the spices of the oak, maintaining the fruit better than any another variety. The wine comes from Rioja Alavesa from old vineyards of more than 40 years, from soils of clay-calcareous composition. As the majority of the vineyards of the Rioja Alavesa, the soils are not very fertile and located in the heart of this subzone in the municipalities of Villabuena, Samaniego, Leza, Navaridas and Baños de Ebro.

As all the wines of Bodegas Amaren, the grapes for this wine come from selected vineyards with a low production, the berries of which are controlled by selection table after choosing the best of the harvest manually, cluster by cluster. Amaren Tempranillo Reserva is made with 100% Tempranillo, its fermentation was made in small tanks at controlled temperature. This wine was aged in new French oak barrels during 18 months. Not every year do they deserve to be bottled with this brand especially to achieve that the aromatic principles of the fruit, resist the shock of the wood. The wine is initially oxygenated in frustoconical oak deposits, which due to their size do not impose on the fruit.

A fine quality wine , very characteristic of calcareous soils, complex, with a good concentration of black fruits, broad, fresh and elegant, with a balsamic aftertaste of freshness, ripe fruit and wild herbs, with a prodigious balance in the mouth and in the nose.
